Exports in South-Eastern Asia

In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of carrots and turnips, when their volume decreased by X% to X tons. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then declined remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, carrot and turnip exports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a buoyant increase. Vietnam was the main exporter of carrots and turnips in South-Eastern Asia, with the volume of exports accounting for X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. In 2022, overseas purchases of carrots and turnips increased by X% to X tons, rising for the fourth year in a row after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, carrot and turnip imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Total imports indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade.
