For the third consecutive year, South Africa recorded decline in shipments abroad of wool, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports recorded a dramatic curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wool exports contracted sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a sharp reduction.
