Exports from South Africa

In 2022, the amount of whisky exported from South Africa contracted to X litres, with a decrease of X% compared with 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X litres. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, whisky exports reached $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Namibia (X litres), Zimbabwe (X litres) and Swaziland (X litres) were the main destinations of whisky exports from South Africa, with a combined X% share of total exports. Lesotho, Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Angola, Zambia and Mozambique lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
