Truck and bus tire exports from Slovakia contracted markedly to X units in 2020, shrinking by -X% on the previous year's figure. Overall, exports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at X units in 2019, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, truck and bus tire exports shrank to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a measured expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports decreased by -X% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X units), the U.S. (X units) and Poland (X units) were the main destinations of truck and bus tire exports from Slovakia, together accounting for X% of total exports. France, Turkey, Italy, Spain, the UK, the Czech Republic, Belgium, Russia, Hungary and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Spain, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for truck and bus tire exports from Slovakia, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the U.S. ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Poland, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Germany amounted to -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the U.S. (+X% per year) and Poland (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the average truck and bus tire export price amounted to $X per unit, increasing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a noticeable descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to France ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports of Tyres For Buses Or Lorries

Imports into Slovakia

In 2020, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in supplies from abroad of tyres for buses or lorries, when their volume decreased by -X% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2019, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

In value terms, truck and bus tire imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2020. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2020, the growth imports failed to regain the momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2020, the Czech Republic (X units) constituted the largest supplier of truck and bus tire to Slovakia, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, truck and bus tire imports from the Czech Republic exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), threefold. Turkey (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Czech Republic amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+X% per year) and Turkey (+X% per year).

In 2020, the average truck and bus tire import price amounted to $X per unit, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a perceptible contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2009 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average import prices failed to regain the momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Luxembourg ($X per unit), while the price for Ukraine ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
