Exports from Slovakia

In 2022, overseas shipments of refined copper increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after six years of decline. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a dramatic downturn. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, copper exports soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a deep contraction. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Austria (X tons) was the main destination for copper exports from Slovakia, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, copper exports to Austria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), more than tenfold.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Austria amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (X% per year) and the Czech Republic (X% per year).

The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. In 2022, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest copper supplier to Slovakia, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, copper imports from Poland exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), threefold.
