Exports from Slovakia

In 2022, recovered paper exports from Slovakia dropped sharply to X tons, falling by X% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by X% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X tons in 2021, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

In value terms, recovered paper exports reduced dramatically to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, saw a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then dropped rapidly in the following year.

Austria (X tons), Hungary (X tons) and the Czech Republic (X tons) were the main destinations of recovered paper exports from Slovakia, together comprising X% of total exports. Ukraine, Croatia, Poland and Germany lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then reduced notably in the following year.

In value terms, recovered paper imports shrank sharply to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In 2022, Hungary (X tons) constituted the largest recovered paper supplier to Slovakia, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, recovered paper imports from Hungary exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Czech Republic (X tons), threefold. Poland (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
