Exports from Slovakia
In 2022, shipments abroad of olives prepared or preserved increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after six years of decline. In general, exports, however, saw a slight reduction. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, preserved olive exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of X%. The exports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Poland (X tons), the Czech Republic (X tons) and Hungary (X tons) were the main destinations of preserved olive exports from Slovakia, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Ukraine, which accounted for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ukraine (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, preserved olive imports fell slightly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then declined modestly in the following year.
