Exports from Slovakia

In 2022, shipments abroad of i-sections of non-alloy steel decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports continue to indicate a perceptible descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then shrank markedly in the following year.

In value terms, non-alloy steel i-sections exports contracted dramatically to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed noticeable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then declined notably in the following year.

The Czech Republic (X tons) was the main destination for non-alloy steel i-sections exports from Slovakia, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, non-alloy steel i-sections exports to the Czech Republic exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X tons), sevenfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Hungary (X tons), with a X% share.
