In value terms, cement plate exports amounted to $X in 2018. In general, cement plate exports, however, continue to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, cement plate exports attained their peak of $X. From 2013 to 2018, the growth of cement plate exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The Czech Republic (X tonnes), China (X tonnes) and Hungary (X tonnes) were the main destinations of cement plate exports from Slovakia, together comprising X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Hungary (+X% per year), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, the average export prices for cement plates, sticks, tips and the like for tools reached their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, cement plate imports, however, continue to indicate a conspicuous expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, cement plate imports attained their peak figure at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cement plate imports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, the total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2007 to 2018: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, cement plate imports decreased by -X% against 2014 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, import prices failed to regain their momentum.
