In general, exports, however, continue to indicate moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2019, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, alcohols exports declined to $X in 2019. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2019, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Hungary (X tonnes) was the main destination for alcohols exports from Slovakia, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, alcohols exports to Hungary exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Poland (X tonnes), fivefold. Austria (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Hungary amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Poland (+X% per year) and Austria (+X% per year).

In value terms, Hungary ($X), Germany ($X) and Poland ($X) were the largest markets for alcohols exported from Slovakia worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Hungary recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
