Plywood Market Size in Singapore

In value terms, plywood exports amounted to $X in 2020. In general, total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value decreased at an average annual rate of -X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, exports decreased by -X% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

The Netherlands (X cubic meters), Indonesia (X cubic meters) and Malaysia (X cubic meters) were the main destinations of plywood exports from Singapore, with a combined X% share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in the Netherlands, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) remains the key foreign market for plywood exports from Singapore, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Maldives ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value to the Netherlands totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Maldives (-X% per year) and Germany (+X% per year).

Overall, export price indicated a strong increase from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. In 2020, overseas purchases of plywood decreased by -X% to X cubic meters, falling for the seventh year in a row after four years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate moderate growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X cubic meters in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, plywood imports shrank rapidly to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate noticeable growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

China (X cubic meters), Indonesia (X cubic meters) and Viet Nam (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of plywood imports to Singapore, with a combined X% share of total imports. Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries.
