Uncoated Felt Paper Exports

Exports from Saudi Arabia

After two years of growth, shipments abroad of uncoated felt paper and paperboard decreased by -37.8% to X tons in 2022. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 1,231% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.

In value terms, uncoated felt paper exports dropped markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a prominent increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 659% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2021, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

Egypt (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Bahrain (X tons) were the main destinations of uncoated felt paper exports from Saudi Arabia, together comprising 68% of total exports.

After three years of decline, overseas purchases of uncoated felt paper and paperboard decreased by 0% to X tons in 2018. Overall, imports saw resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 113% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, uncoated felt paper imports stood at $X in 2018. In general, imports continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 212%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.
