The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Egypt (X tonnes), the United Arab Emirates (X tonnes) and Australia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of non-alloy steel h-sections exports from Saudi Arabia, together accounting for X% of total exports. Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Oman, while exports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

In value terms, Egypt ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-alloy steel h-sections exports from Saudi Arabia, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Oman ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a X% share.

The average non-alloy steel h-sections export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, falling by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate a noticeable slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Oman ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 when imports increased by X% year-to-year.
