South Africa prevails in imports structure, accounting for X units, which was near 79% of total imports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units), generating a 6.5% share of total imports. Mozambique (X units) and Angola (X units) held a minor share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to video game console imports into South Africa stood at -5.9%. At the same time, Mozambique (+54.1%) and Democratic Republic of the Congo (+40.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. The second position in the ranking was held by Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X), with a 2.4% share of total imports. It was followed by Angola, with a 1.2% share.
In South Africa, video game console imports decreased by an average annual rate of -6.4% over the period from 2012-2022. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: Democratic Republic of the Congo (+21.7% per year) and Angola (-14.0% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The import price in SADC stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -8.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a slight curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 12%. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
