Avocado Market Size in Rwanda
The revenue of the avocado market in Rwanda amounted to $X in 2018, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, avocado exports reached their peak figure in 2018 and are expected to retain its growth in the near future.

Mexico was the major exporting country with an export of about X tonnes, which reached X% of total exports. It was distantly followed by Peru (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes) and Chile (X tonnes), together creating a X% share of total exports. Spain (X tonnes), South Africa (X tonnes), Kenya (X tonnes) and the U.S. (X tonnes) followed a long way behind the leaders.
From 2007 to 2018, average annual rates of growth with regard to avocado exports from Mexico stood at +X%. At the same time, Peru (+X%), the U.S. (+X%), the Netherlands (+X%), Kenya (+X%), Spain (+X%), South Africa (+X%) and Chile (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Peru emerged as the fastest-growing exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2018. Mexico (+X p.p.), Peru (+X p.p.), the Netherlands (+X p.p.), Chile (+X p.p.), the U.S. (+X p.p.), Spain (+X p.p.), Kenya (+X p.p.) and South Africa (+X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the largest avocado supplier from Rwanda, comprising X% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the Netherlands ($X), with a X% share of global exports. It was followed by Peru, with a X% share.
In Mexico, avocado exports increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2018. In the other countries, the average annual rates were as follows: the Netherlands (+X% per year) and Peru (+X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2018, the avocado export price in Rwanda amounted to $X per tonne, declining by -X% against the previous year. In that year, the export prices for avocados reached their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2011 to 2018, the growth in terms of the export prices for avocados failed to regain its momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per tonne), while Kenya ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
