Wadding Of Textile Market Size in the Russian Federation

The Russian wadding of textile market totaled $X in 2020, remaining stable against the previous year. The market value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2020; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the market attained the maximum level at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Exports from the Russian Federation

In 2020, shipments abroad of wadding of textile materials and articles thereof decreased by -X% to X tonnes, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate noticeable growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, wadding of textile exports dropped rapidly to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, saw a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports reached the maximum at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan (X tonnes), Belarus (X tonnes) and Ukraine (X tonnes) were the main destinations of wadding of textile exports from Russia, with a combined X% share of total exports. Uzbekistan, Turkey, Iran, Estonia, Germany, Switzerland, Serbia, Romania, Jordan and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Iran (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kazakhstan ($X), Belarus ($X) and Ukraine ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for wadding of textile exported from Russia worldwide, together comprising X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Switzerland, Uzbekistan, Turkey, Iran, Germany, Serbia, Romania, Estonia, Jordan and Poland, which together accounted for a further X the main countries of destination, Iran (+X% per year) recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the average wadding of textile export price amounted to $X per tonne, waning by -X% against the previous year. Over the last thirteen years, it increased at an average annual rate of +X%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum at $X per tonne in 2019, and then declined in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Estonia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Switzerland, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Wadding Of Textile Imports

Imports into the Russian Federation

In 2020, the amount of wadding of textile materials and articles thereof imported into Russia contracted to X tonnes, dropping by -X% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, imports recorded a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, wadding of textile imports dropped to $X in 2020. Overall, imports recorded a mild downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2020, Uzbekistan (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of wadding of textile to Russia, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, wadding of textile imports from Uzbekistan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Lithuania (X tonnes), fivefold. Ukraine (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume from Uzbekistan amounted to +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Lithuania (+X% per year) and Ukraine (+X% per year).

In value terms, Lithuania ($X), South Korea ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X) were the largest wadding of textile suppliers to Russia, together comprising X% of total imports. These countries were followed by Ukraine, Hungary, Poland, Japan, Bulgaria, China, Latvia and Belarus, which together accounted for a further X (+X% per year) saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2020, the average wadding of textile import price amounted to $X per tonne, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 an increase of X% y-o-y. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, import prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per tonne), while the price for Uzbekistan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
