Ukraine, Ethiopia, Turkmenistan, Cuba, Viet Nam, Azerbaijan, Armenia and Egypt lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Ethiopia, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for truck exported from Russia were Kazakhstan ($X), Belarus ($X) and Ethiopia ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Ethiopia experienced the highest growth rate of market size, over the period under review, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average truck export price stood at $X per unit in 2018, reducing by -X% against the previous year. In general, the truck export price continues to indicate a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. In that year, the average export prices for trucks reached their peak level of $X per unit. From 2013 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average export prices for trucks remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

In 2018, the amount of trucks imported into Russia amounted to X units, rising by X% against the previous year. In general, truck imports, however, continue to indicate an abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, truck imports reached their peak figure at X units in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, truck imports stood at $X in 2018. Overall, truck imports, however, continue to indicate a deep decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, truck imports attained their peak figure at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2018, South Korea (X units) constituted the largest supplier of truck to Russia, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, truck imports from South Korea exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belarus (X units), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Thailand (X units), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of volume from South Korea totaled +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belarus (-X% per year) and Thailand (-X% per year).

In value terms, the largest truck suppliers to Russia were South Korea ($X), Belarus ($X) and Thailand ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.

Among the main suppliers, South Korea experienced the highest growth rate of market size, over the period under review, while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

Import Prices by Country

The average truck import price stood at $X per unit in 2018, approximately reflecting the previous year. In general, the import price indicated prominent growth from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, truck import price increased by +X% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008 when the average import price increased by X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the average import prices for trucks reached their maximum at $X per unit in 2017, leveling off in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Belarus ($X per unit), while the price for South Korea ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Finland, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
