Shampoo Market Size in the Russian Federation

In 2020, the Russian shampoo market increased by X% to $X, rising for the third consecutive year after three years of decline. Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated temperate growth from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, consumption increased by +X% against 2017 indices. Exports from the Russian Federation

In 2020, exports of shampoos from Russia declined dramatically to X tonnes, dropping by -X% against the previous year. In general, exports showed a slight descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, shampoo exports fell remarkably to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Kazakhstan (X tonnes), Belarus (X tonnes) and Uzbekistan (X tonnes) were the main destinations of shampoo exports from Russia, together comprising X% of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Uzbekistan, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Belarus ($X), Kazakhstan ($X) and Uzbekistan ($X) were the largest markets for shampoo exported from Russia worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Uzbekistan recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the average shampoo export price amounted to $X per tonne, stabilizing at the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices reached the maximum at $X per tonne in 2013; afterwards, it flattened through to 2020.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Georgia ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Kazakhstan ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Uzbekistan, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Shampoo Imports

Imports into the Russian Federation

In 2020, overseas purchases of shampoos decreased by -X% to X tonnes for the first time since 2015, thus ending a four-year rising trend. Overall, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2019, and then reduced sharply in the following year.

In value terms, shampoo imports dropped significantly to $X in 2020. In general, imports saw a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2020, Romania (X tonnes) constituted the largest shampoo supplier to Russia, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, shampoo imports from Romania exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Belarus (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume from Romania stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+X% per year) and Belarus (-X% per year).

In value terms, Romania ($X) constituted the largest supplier of shampoo to Russia, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Italy ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by France, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value from Romania stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+X% per year) and France (-X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2020, the average shampoo import price amounted to $X per tonne, reducing by -X% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded a mild curtailment. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2008 when the average import price increased by X% year-to-year. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was South Korea ($X per tonne), while the price for Morocco ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
