Exports from the Russian Federation

In 2022, shipments abroad of ethyl alcohol decreased by X% to X litres, falling for the third consecutive year after four years of growth. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X litres in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, ethanol exports declined markedly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed a strong increase. In 2022, the amount of ethyl alcohol imported into Russia dropped notably to X litres, with a decrease of X% on the previous year. Overall, imports showed a sharp slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X litres in 2021, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
