The UK, Colombia, the Netherlands, Turkey, Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova, France, Spain and Morocco lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 51%.

Over the period under review, export price indicated a remarkable increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +5.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, waffle and wafer export price increased by +67.6% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 32%. Imports into Romania
For the seventh year in a row, Romania recorded growth in overseas purchases of waffles and wafers, which increased by 6.1% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of 43%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Ukraine (X tons), Poland (X tons) and Turkey (X tons) were the main suppliers of waffle and wafer imports to Romania, with a combined 64% share of total imports.
