The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Sweden (X litres) was the main destination for sparkling wine exports from Romania, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, sparkling wine exports to Sweden exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X litres), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by the UK (X litres), with a X% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Sweden stood at +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+X% per year) and the UK (+X% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for sparkling wine exported from Romania were Sweden ($X), Italy ($X) and Moldova ($X), together comprising X% of total exports.
Sweden, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, sparkling wine imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a remarkable increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Italy (X litres) constituted the largest supplier of sparkling wine to Romania, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, sparkling wine imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X litres), twofold. Hungary (X litres) ranked third in terms of total imports with an X% share.
