Bulgaria (X units), Italy (X units) and Greece (X units) were the main destinations of laptop and tablet computer exports from Romania, together comprising 39% of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Poland, Hungary, Portugal, Serbia, Latvia and the UK, which together accounted for a further 47%.

In value terms, Bulgaria ($X) remains the key foreign market for laptops and palm-top computers exports from Romania, comprising 22% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 7.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Greece, with a 6.2% share.

In value terms, laptop and tablet computer imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 60%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

China (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of laptop and tablet computer imports to Romania, together comprising 64% of total imports. These countries were followed by Austria, Hungary, France, Poland, Slovakia and the UK, which together accounted for a further 25%.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by France (with a CAGR of +26.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest laptop and tablet computer suppliers to Romania were China ($X), Hungary ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 63% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Poland, France and the UK, which together accounted for a further 31%.

Over the period under review, import price indicated a tangible expansion from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 33% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
