As a result, exports reached the peak of X tonnes. from 2009 to 2020, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, jute and jute-like fibers exports fell dramatically to $X in 2020. Overall, exports faced a dramatic shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. from 2009 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Italy (X kg), Bulgaria (X kg) and Denmark (X kg) were the main destinations of jute and jute-like fibers exports from Romania, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Hungary, which accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Hungary, while exports for the other leaders experienced a decline.

As a result, export price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. from 2015 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average export prices failed to regain the momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Hungary ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Denmark, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, jute and jute-like fibers imports into Romania fell sharply to X kg, with a decrease of -X% on the year before. In general, imports showed a significant decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, jute and jute-like fibers imports surged to $X in 2020. Overall, imports recorded a drastic downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 with an increase of X% year-to-year.
