Exports from Romania
In 2022, shipments abroad of beans (dry) decreased by X% to X tons, falling for the third consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, dry bean exports fell notably to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, enjoyed tangible growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

The UK (X tons) was the main destination for dry bean exports from Romania, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, dry bean exports to the UK exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Turkey (X tons), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Moldova (X tons), with a X% share.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
