In 2022, approx. X tons of tin ores and concentrateses were exported from South Korea; growing by 53% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 713% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, tin ores and concentrates exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports recorded significant growth. In 2022, supplies from abroad of tin ores and concentrateses increased by 48% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, imports saw a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 760%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, tin ores and concentrates imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 403%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In 2022, China (X tons) was the main tin ores and concentrates supplier to South Korea, with a 94% share of total imports. Moreover, tin ores and concentrates imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the United States (X kg), more than tenfold.
