Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, non-wheat flour exports dropped modestly to $X in 2023. Overall, exports, however, recorded a slight increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2023, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United States (X tons) was the main destination for non-wheat flour exports from South Korea, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, non-wheat flour exports to the United States exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Canada (X tons), sevenfold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to the United States amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Canada (X% per year) and Germany (X% per year).

In 2023, the average non-wheat flour export price amounted to $X per ton, increasing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight contraction. After five years of growth, supplies from abroad of non-wheat flours decreased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2022, and then shrank modestly in the following year.

In value terms, non-wheat flour imports contracted to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, posted a strong increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at $X in 2022, and then shrank in the following year.

Imports by Country

India (X tons), France (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of non-wheat flour imports to South Korea, together accounting for X% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2023, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of X%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest non-wheat flour suppliers to South Korea were India ($X), France ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.
