The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the U.S. ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. In that year, acyclic hydrocarbons imports attained their peak of X tonnes. From 2015 to 2018, the growth of acyclic hydrocarbons imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, acyclic hydrocarbons imports stood at $X in 2018. Overall, acyclic hydrocarbons imports continue to indicate remarkable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% y-o-y. In that year, acyclic hydrocarbons imports reached their peak of $X. Imports by Country

Japan (X tonnes), Brazil (X tonnes) and the U.S. (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of acyclic hydrocarbons imports to South Korea, together accounting for X% of total imports. These countries were followed by Taiwan, Chinese, Indonesia, Singapore, Belgium, India, Spain, Saudi Arabia, Malaysia and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belgium, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest acyclic hydrocarbons suppliers to South Korea were Japan ($X), Taiwan, Chinese ($X) and Brazil ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. Indonesia, the U.S., India, Spain, Singapore, Belgium, Saudi Arabia, the Netherlands and Malaysia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X experienced the highest growth rate of market size, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average acyclic hydrocarbons import price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the acyclic hydrocarbons import price, however, continues to indicate slight growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 an increase of X% against the previous year. In that year, the average import prices for acyclic hydrocarbons attained their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average import prices for acyclic hydrocarbons remained at a somewhat lower figure.
