In value terms, vegetable exports declined to $X in 2020. In general, exports showed a pronounced shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2009 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.
In value terms, vegetable imports soared to $X in 2020. Overall, imports showed a precipitous decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Pakistan (X tonnes), Myanmar (X tonnes) and Malta (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of vegetable imports to Qatar, together comprising X% of total imports. These countries were followed by South Africa, India, Turkey, Lebanon, Syrian Arab Republic, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Uganda, Palestine and Brazil, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Uganda (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest vegetable suppliers to Qatar were South Africa ($X), Turkey ($X) and Pakistan ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Myanmar, Lebanon, Brazil, Palestine, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Syrian Arab Republic, Malta, Jordan and India, which together accounted for a further X the main suppliers, Uganda (+X% per year) saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average vegetable import price amounted to $X per tonne, picking up by X% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a tangible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per tonne. from 2016 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average import prices failed to regain the momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per tonne), while the price for India ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
