Spinach Market Size in Qatar

In value terms, spinach imports shrank sharply to $X in 2020. In general, imports continue to indicate a dramatic decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

Imports by Country

South Africa (X tonnes), Kenya (X tonnes) and China (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of spinach imports to Qatar, with a combined X% share of total imports. Brazil, the Netherlands and Peru lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Brazil (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kenya ($X) constituted the largest supplier of spinach to Qatar, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by China ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Brazil, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Kenya was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (X% per year) and Brazil (+X% per year).

The average spinach import price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, growing by X% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a remarkable increase. The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2017; afterwards, it flattened through to 2020.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Peru ($X per tonne), while the price for South Africa ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
