As a result, exports attained the peak of X tonnes. From 2019 to 2020, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, prepared frozen vegetables exports declined to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of X% year-to-year. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

France (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes) and Spain (X tonnes) were the main destinations of prepared frozen vegetables exports from Portugal, with a combined X% share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by France (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, supplies from abroad of frozen vegetables and mixtures of vegetables (prepared or preserved) decreased by -X% to X tonnes for the first time since 2006, thus ending a thirteen-year rising trend. In general, imports, however, showed a significant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2019, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, prepared frozen vegetables imports fell modestly to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
