In 2022, overseas shipments of chilies and peppers (green) increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, exports showed moderate growth. The exports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Spain (X tons), Poland (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main destinations of chili and pepper exports from Portugal, together accounting for X% of total exports. Cabo Verde, the UK, Slovakia, France and Belgium lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
