The growth pace was the most rapid in 2022 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2023 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons), Russia (X tons) and Bulgaria (X tons) were the main destinations of preserved tomato exports from Poland, with a combined X% share of total exports. Romania, the Czech Republic, Belarus, Ukraine, the UK, Italy, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Lithuania and Slovakia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Croatia (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), Russia ($X) and Bulgaria ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for preserved tomato exported from Poland worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. Over the period under review, export price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2023: its price increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2023 figures, preserved tomato export price increased by X% against 2016 indices. As a result, the export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of preserved tomatoes decreased by X% to X tons in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of X%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2022, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, preserved tomato imports skyrocketed to $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, showed a strong increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked in 2023 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Imports by Country

In 2023, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of preserved tomato to Poland, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, preserved tomato imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tons), fourfold. Greece (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2023, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Italy totaled X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (X% per year) and Greece (X% per year).
