Explosives Market Size in Poland

The Polish explosives market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2020, after two years of decline. In general, the total consumption indicated a noticeable expansion from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. For the fourth consecutive year, Poland recorded growth in overseas shipments of prepared explosives, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2020. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007 to 2020; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, explosives exports soared to $X in 2020. Overall, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tonnes), Sweden (X tonnes) and Norway (X tonnes) were the main destinations of explosives exports from Poland, together accounting for X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Croatia, Greece, Slovenia, Italy, Slovakia, Austria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Czech Republic and Ghana, which together accounted for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Croatia, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Sweden ($X), Germany ($X) and Norway ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for explosives exported from Poland worldwide, together comprising X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Greece, Croatia, Italy, Ghana, Slovakia, Austria, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia and the Czech Republic, which together accounted for a further X and Herzegovina saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average explosives export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a mild decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by X% y-o-y. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Croatia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bosnia and Herzegovina, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Poland

In 2020, imports of prepared explosives into Poland surged to X tonnes, with an increase of X% on the previous year. In general, imports enjoyed a strong increase. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tonnes in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, explosives imports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, imports recorded prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per tonne), while the price for Sweden ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
