Plywood Market Size in Poland

The Polish plywood market surged to $X in 2020, with an increase of X% against the previous year. In general, the total consumption indicated a slight increase from 2007 to 2020: its value increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Germany (X cubic meters) was the main destination for plywood exports from Poland, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, plywood exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the UK (X cubic meters), twofold. Australia (X cubic meters) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the UK (+X% per year) and Australia (+X% per year).

In value terms, Germany ($X), the UK ($X) and Australia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for plywood exported from Poland worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports.

Australia recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the average plywood export price amounted to $X per cubic meter, with a decrease of -X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 an increase of X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per cubic meter in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Australia ($X per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Poland

Plywood imports into Poland rose significantly to X cubic meters in 2020, growing by X% against the year before. Overall, imports posted a prominent expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, plywood imports totaled $X in 2020. In general, imports continue to indicate notable growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2010 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

Russia (X cubic meters), Belarus (X cubic meters) and China (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of plywood imports to Poland, with a combined X% share of total imports.
