Exports of Motorcycles, Scooters and Side-Cars

Exports from Poland

In 2022, the amount of motorcycles, scooters and side-cars exported from Poland reduced to X units, waning by X% against the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by X%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, motorcycle, scooter and side-car exports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

Exports by Country

Germany (X units) was the main destination for motorcycle, scooter and side-car exports from Poland, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, motorcycle, scooter and side-car exports to Germany exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X units), fourfold. Sweden (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a X% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Germany amounted to X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (X% per year) and Sweden (X% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for motorcycle, scooter and side-car exported from Poland were Germany ($X), Belgium ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Sweden, the UK, France, the Czech Republic, Austria, Norway, Belarus, Lithuania, Romania and Switzerland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

The UK, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average motorcycle, scooter and side-car export price amounted to $X per unit, rising by X% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of X%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2020 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Romania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Poland

After two years of growth, supplies from abroad of motorcycles, scooters and side-cars decreased by X% to X units in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted a significant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, motorcycle, scooter and side-car imports expanded markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, showed strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by X%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest motorcycle, scooter and side-car supplier to Poland, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, motorcycle, scooter and side-car imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X units), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Italy (X units), with a X% share.
