Mate Market Size in Poland

The Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Portugal, Belarus, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Belgium and the U.S. lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the Netherlands (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Brazil ($X), the UK ($X) and Portugal ($X) constituted the largest markets for mate exported from Poland worldwide, together accounting for X% of total exports.

In 2020, the average mate export price amounted to $X per tonne, increasing by X% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a buoyant increase from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, mate export price increased by +X% against 2013 indices. As a result, export price attained the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Brazil (+X% per year), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, the amount of mate imported into Poland rose slightly to X tonnes, with an increase of X% against 2019. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a perceptible setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tonnes. from 2011 to 2020, the growth imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, mate imports expanded sharply to $X in 2020. Overall, imports, however, showed a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Imports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In 2020, Brazil (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of mate to Poland, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, mate imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Paraguay (X tonnes), twofold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Germany (X tonnes), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume from Brazil was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Paraguay (+X% per year) and Germany (-X% per year).
