In that year, the average export prices for garlic attained their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2011 to 2018, the growth in terms of the average export prices for garlic remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Romania ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Bulgaria ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Poland

Garlic imports into Poland totaled X tonnes in 2018, shrinking by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, garlic imports continue to indicate an abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, garlic imports amounted to $X in 2018. Overall, garlic imports continue to indicate a temperate descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at $X in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2018, Spain (X tonnes) constituted the largest supplier of garlic to Poland, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, garlic imports from Spain exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Egypt (X tonnes), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Portugal (X tonnes), with a X% share.
