Exports from Poland

In 2021, exports of fresh or chilled cuts of chicken from Poland rose rapidly to X tons, growing by 7.7% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, exports saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 31%. The exports peaked in 2021 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

In value terms, fresh chicken cut exports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate resilient growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 48% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.

Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of fresh chicken cut exports from Poland, with a combined 54% share of total exports. There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Latvia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

In 2021, purchases abroad of fresh or chilled cuts of chicken was finally on the rise to reach X tons after two years of decline. In general, imports showed a tangible expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 137% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, fresh chicken cut imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports continue to indicate a resilient increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 with an increase of 194%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Ukraine amounted to +42.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+27.6% per year) and Slovakia (+48.6% per year).
