For the fifth year in a row, Poland recorded growth in overseas shipments of avocados, which increased by X% to X tonnes in 2020. In general, exports recorded a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2020 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, avocado exports soared to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. The exports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Exports by Country
Ukraine (X tonnes) was the main destination for avocado exports from Poland, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, avocado exports to Ukraine exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Belarus (X tonnes), eightfold.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Ukraine amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belarus (+X% per year) and the Netherlands (+X% per year).
In value terms, Ukraine ($X) remains the key foreign market for avocado exports from Poland, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the Netherlands ($X), with a X% share of total exports.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value to Ukraine totaled +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+X% per year) and Belarus (+X% per year).
Export Prices by Country
The average avocado export price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Poland
In 2020, the amount of avocados imported into Poland rose remarkably to X tonnes, increasing by X% against the previous year. Overall, imports enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2020 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, avocado imports expanded markedly to $X in 2020. In general, imports showed a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2008 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2020 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2020, the Netherlands (X tonnes) constituted the largest avocado supplier to Poland, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, avocado imports from the Netherlands exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X tonnes), fourfold. Spain (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from the Netherlands stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+X% per year) and Spain (+X% per year).

Import Prices by Country
The average avocado import price stood at $X per tonne in 2020, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated pronounced growth from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, avocado import price increased by +X% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2019 an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per tonne, and then declined in the following year.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the countries with the highest prices were Austria ($X per tonne) and Slovenia ($X per tonne), while the price for Spain ($X per tonne) and Germany ($X per tonne) were amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+X%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
