Exports from the Philippines

In 2022, shipments abroad of tobacco (unmanufactured) increased by X% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, exports saw temperate growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of X%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, unmanufactured tobacco exports reached $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Myanmar (X tons), Indonesia (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main destinations of unmanufactured tobacco exports from the Philippines, together accounting for X% of total exports.
