Ghee Market Size in the Philippines

After six years of growth, the Philippine ghee market decreased by -X% to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a strong expansion. As a result, exports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2019, the growth exports failed to regain the momentum.

Exports by Country

Indonesia (X tonnes) was the main destination for ghee exports from the Philippines, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, ghee exports to Indonesia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Saudi Arabia (X tonnes), eightfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Viet Nam (X kg), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2019, the average annual growth rate of volume to Indonesia was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Saudi Arabia (-X% per year) and Viet Nam (+X% per year).

The average ghee export price stood at $X per tonne in 2019, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2019 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2019, the country with the highest price was Viet Nam ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to the U.S. ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
