The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, butter export price decreased by -X% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per tonne in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2018, export prices failed to regain their momentum.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

In 2018, approx. X tonnes of butter were imported into Pakistan; rising by X% against the previous year. Overall, butter imports continue to indicate a modest expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2018 and are likely to continue its growth in the near future.

In value terms, butter imports stood at $X in 2018. Over the period under review, butter imports continue to indicate a moderate increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, butter imports reached their maximum at $X in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In 2018, Denmark (X tonnes) constituted the largest butter supplier to Pakistan, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, butter imports from Denmark exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, France (X tonnes), fivefold.
