Yemen (X tons) was the main destination for preserved frozen potato exports from Oman, accounting for a 62% share of total exports. Moreover, preserved frozen potato exports to Yemen exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Kuwait (X tons), sixfold. Bahrain (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.3% share.

In value terms, Yemen ($X), Somalia ($X) and Bulgaria ($X) constituted the largest markets for preserved frozen potato exported from Oman worldwide, with a combined 71% share of total exports.

Somalia, with a CAGR of +57.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average preserved frozen potato export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -38.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 34%. Imports into Oman

In 2021, approx. X tons of frozen potatoes prepared or preserved were imported into Oman; growing by 2.6% against 2020. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +7.7% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports decreased by -6.3% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 30% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2020 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Egypt (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved frozen potato imports to Oman, with a combined 46% share of total imports.
