For the third consecutive year, the Norwegian bus market recorded growth in sales value, which increased by X% to $X in 2020. In general, consumption saw strong growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs in 2020 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Over the period under review, exports attained the maximum at $X in 2008; however, from 2009 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Germany (X units), Estonia (X units) and Denmark (X units) were the main destinations of bus exports from Norway, together accounting for X% of total exports. Sweden, Lithuania, Poland, Finland and Italy lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Finland, while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for bus exported from Norway were Sweden ($X), Germany ($X) and Denmark ($X), together accounting for X% of total exports.

Among the main countries of destination, Germany recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average bus export price stood at $X per unit in 2020, reducing by -X% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of X% year-to-year. The export price peaked at $X per unit in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Lithuania, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In value terms, Poland ($X), Germany ($X) and China ($X) appeared to be the largest bus suppliers to Norway, with a combined X% share of total imports.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Finland ($X per unit), while the price for Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
