Microwave Oven Market Size in Norway

The Norwegian microwave oven market expanded remarkably to $X in 2020, picking up by X% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). In value terms, microwave oven exports skyrocketed to $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a abrupt descent. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Nigeria (X units) was the main destination for microwave oven exports from Norway, accounting for a X% share of total exports. Moreover, microwave oven exports to Nigeria exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Sweden (X units), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Denmark (X units), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Nigeria amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (-X% per year) and Denmark (-X% per year).

In value terms, Denmark ($X) remains the key foreign market for microwave oven exports from Norway, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Sweden ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Turkey, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of value to Denmark amounted to -X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Sweden (-X% per year) and Turkey (+X% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2020, the average microwave oven export price amounted to $X per unit, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 when the average export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average export prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Nigeria ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Sweden, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2020, after three years of decline, there was significant growth in purchases abroad of microwave ovens, when their volume increased by X% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, microwave oven imports expanded remarkably to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, saw a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2011 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

In 2020, China (X units) constituted the largest microwave oven supplier to Norway, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, microwave oven imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Malaysia (X units), tenfold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Italy (X units), with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China amounted to -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Malaysia (+X% per year) and Italy (+X% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of microwave oven to Norway, comprising X% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by the UK ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Poland, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from China totaled -X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (-X% per year) and Poland (+X% per year).

Import Prices by Country

In 2020, the average microwave oven import price amounted to $X per unit, growing by X% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a resilient increase from 2007 to 2020: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last thirteen years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2020 figures, microwave oven import price increased by +X% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008 when the average import price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was Poland ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Singapore, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
