Exports from Norway

For the third year in a row, Norway recorded decline in overseas shipments of meat and poultry, which decreased by X% to X tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, meat and poultry exports dropped to $X in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of X% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then contracted in the following year.

Imports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, meat and poultry imports contracted remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a mild reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of X%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then reduced rapidly in the following year.

In 2022, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of meat and poultry to Norway, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, meat and poultry imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Denmark (X tons), fivefold.
