From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +26.8%).
In value terms, the largest markets for grape exported from Norway were the Netherlands ($X) and Spain ($X).
Among the main countries of destination, Spain, with a CAGR of +9.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review.

The average grape export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, dropping by -25.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a abrupt slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 23% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain amounted to $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+28.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Norway
Grape imports into Norway declined slightly to X tons in 2022, with a decrease of -2.6% against 2021 figures. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 2.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, grape imports declined to $X in 2022. Overall, imports saw a slight setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 7.2%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
South Africa (X tons), Spain (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main suppliers of grape imports to Norway, together comprising 71% of total imports. Peru, Egypt, India, Brazil and Chile lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 25%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Peru (with a CAGR of +17.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, South Africa ($X), Spain ($X) and Peru ($X) appeared to be the largest grape suppliers to Norway, together accounting for 70% of total imports.
Among the main suppliers, Peru, with a CAGR of +16.9%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
