Cyclic Hydrocarbons Market Size in Nigeria

The revenue of the cyclic hydrocarbons market in Nigeria amounted to $X in 2018, coming down by -X% against the previous year. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 when exports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, cyclic hydrocarbons exports attained their peak figure at X tonnes in 2017, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons exports amounted to $X in 2018. Over the period under review, cyclic hydrocarbons exports, however, continue to indicate a dramatic curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Benin (X tonnes) was the main destination for cyclic hydrocarbons exports from Nigeria, with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, cyclic hydrocarbons exports to Benin exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Niger (X kg), more than tenfold.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Benin was relatively modest.

In value terms, Benin ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for cyclic hydrocarbons exports from Nigeria, comprising X% of total cyclic hydrocarbons exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Niger ($X), with a X% share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual growth rate of value to Benin was relatively modest.

Export Prices by Country

The average cyclic hydrocarbons export price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, going down by -X% against the previous year. In general, the cyclic hydrocarbons export price continues to indicate a precipitous descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010 an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices for cyclic hydrocarbons attained their peak figure at $X per tonne in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2018, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2018, the country with the highest price was Benin ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Niger stood at $X per tonne.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Benin.

Cyclic Hydrocarbons Imports

Imports into Nigeria

In 2018, approx. X tonnes of cyclic hydrocarbons were imported into Nigeria; going down by -X% against the previous year. In general, cyclic hydrocarbons imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2010; however, from 2011 to 2018, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, cyclic hydrocarbons imports totaled $X in 2018. Over the period under review, cyclic hydrocarbons imports, however, continue to indicate a mild increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, imports failed to regain their momentum.

Imports by Country

Estonia (X tonnes), Albania (X tonnes) and South Korea (X tonnes) were the main suppliers of cyclic hydrocarbons imports to Nigeria, together accounting for X% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of imports, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Albania, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest cyclic hydrocarbons suppliers to Nigeria were Estonia ($X), South Korea ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports. Barbados, Spain, Belgium, the United Arab Emirates, India and Albania lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X the main suppliers, India recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to imports, over the last eleven-year period, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The average cyclic hydrocarbons import price stood at $X per tonne in 2018, going up by X% against the previous year. Overall, the cyclic hydrocarbons import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, the average import prices for cyclic hydrocarbons attained their maximum at $X per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2018, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin; the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per tonne), while the price for Albania ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
