Exports from New Zealand

In 2022, overseas shipments of paperboard case materials increased by 42% to X tons for the first time since 2013, thus ending a eight-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, recorded a perceptible contraction. The exports peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, paperboard case material exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Australia (X tons) was the main destination for paperboard case material exports from New Zealand, accounting for a 41% share of total exports.
