Uncooked Pasta Exports

Exports from the Netherlands

After two years of growth, shipments abroad of uncooked pasta (containing eggs) decreased by -15.4% to X tons in 2021. Over the period under review, exports saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 13%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, uncooked pasta exports declined to $X in 2021. In general, exports saw a drastic downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 27%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Germany (X tons), France (X tons) and Belgium (X tons) were the main destinations of uncooked pasta exports from the Netherlands, with a combined 69% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the UK, Spain, Denmark, the United States and Sweden, which together accounted for a further 20%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the United States (with a CAGR of +98.1%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, approx. X tons of uncooked pasta (containing eggs) were imported into the Netherlands; picking up by 2.4% on 2020. Overall, imports showed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, uncooked pasta imports expanded sharply to $X in 2021.
